Producing Without a Grant

On Cue Professional Development, Session Two

Have a passion project that falls between the funding "cracks"? Does your timeline precede the next grant deadline? Producing with someone else's money is an excellent way to stage indie theatre, but it's not the only path. Employing specific tools and making certain choices can allow you to realize your storytelling desires without feeling like you always have your hand out or that your project needs to meet someone else's criteria.

Jaron Francis is an actor, playwright and producer who has worked on a great many indie theatre pieces, and staged a lot of his own. He has served on the boards of Live Five Independent Theatre, the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre and as a councillor for Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Currently, he works for the AFC’s Reactivation Program.

This Professional Development session will be hosted on Zoom and will be free to attend. Please be aware that this webinar will be recorded and made publicly available via On Cue's website and Youtube channel.

On Cue Professional Development is made possible by the Canada Performing Arts Workers Resilience Fund Grant from Canadian Heritage.
