PS21 has two unique venues in one stunning building on a bucolic setting just one mile outside the Village of Chatham: a traditional stage with open air seating protected by a sweeping pavilion roof as well as an enclosed black box theater. Equipped with state-of-the-art theatrical equipment, PS21 is able to accommodate a wide range of works by today's most brilliant artists in dance, theater and music.
Description
PS21 is opening its season on June 1 with Middle Ground, an evening of collective storytelling, live music, and dance, conceived and hosted by acclaimed Nigerian choreographer Qudus Onikeku. Middle Ground is a guided conversation, free and open to all, envisioned by Onikeku as an invitation to creative placemaking in the form of a shout, a space of audacity, inspiration, and respect. Community members from all walks of life can contribute their voices in what promises to be a joyous, and potentially transformative, experience.
Qudus Onikeku and QDance Company will launch PS21's season of international contemporary dance, opera, theater, and music with an opening night performance of Re:INCARNATION on June 3.
