Details:

  • This course includes four consecutive webinar classes that occur once a week. Each class is 60 minutes long, followed by 30 minutes for questions and discussion
  • Classes are held via zoom. Participants will be provided zoom link information one week prior to course start time.
  • Class sizes are limited in order to enhance the opportunity for questions and discussion
  • No refunds within 14 days of the first class. 
  • Course tuition is $150
  • For those that are not able to attend the live class, participants will receive a recording of every class.

Tuesdays from 4:00 pm-5:30 pm EST

  • 10/7 - Raptor Intake and Triage
    • Instructor: Sunny Cooper, Director of Raptor Rehabilitation and Operations
      • Learn how to assess and stabilize injured raptors upon arrival. This class covers intake procedures, initial triage, and how to prioritize care for various conditions.
  • 10/14 – Parasitology
    • Instructor: Milan Starr, Medical Coordinator
      • Explore common avian parasites and diagnostic techniques, including how to perform and interpret fecal float tests to guide treatment decisions.
  • 10/21 - Flight and Release Evaluations
    • Instructor: Mathias Engelmann, Senior Rehabilitation Coordinator
      • Understand how to assess a raptor’s readiness for release. This session focuses on evaluating flight strength, behavior, and physical condition for successful reintegration into the wild.
  • 10/28 - Rehabilitation Hacks
    • Instructors: Mathias Engelmann, Sunny Cooper, Milan Starr
      • Discover creative tips and time-saving techniques for effective raptor rehabilitation, from enclosure setups to handling strategies that streamline daily care. We will cover net-building, re-usable wing wraps, and more!
