Our ServSafe Manager Class & Exam (Remote) is a comprehensive online course designed to prepare you for the nationally recognized ServSafe Manager Certification. This certification fulfills the Person in Charge (PIC) requirement mandated by most state and local health departments for food service managers.
Before the Class:
• Access to our digital study guide to help you master key concepts.
• A diagnostic practice exam to assess your readiness.
• Access to the event space for tips, open Q&A, and prep guidance.
On Class Day:
• Duration: Approximately 8 hours, including live instruction and breaks.
• Format: Remote, instructor-led class via video conference. Includes engaging presentations, real-world examples, interactive activities, PDF handouts, and state-specific content.
Topics Covered:
Providing Safe Food – causes of foodborne illness, risk factors, TCS foods, and regulatory roles.
Forms of Contamination – biological, chemical, and physical hazards; intentional contamination; allergen control.
The Safe Food Handler – hygiene, illness reporting, handwashing, and glove use.
The Flow of Food – time and temperature control, receiving, storage, preparation, cooking, cooling, and service.
Food Safety Management Systems – Active Managerial Control, HACCP principles, and standard operating procedures.
Safe Facilities & Pest Management – design, equipment, and pest prevention.
Cleaning & Sanitizing – cleaning vs. sanitizing, dishwashing, and proper sanitizer use.
Proctored Exam:
The ServSafe Manager Certification exam is completed online through ProctorU and included with enrollment. Before class, you’ll receive your exam code and detailed instructions to schedule your exam. The multiple-choice exam has 90 questions, and a score of 70% or higher is required to earn certification.
