Description

Whether it comes from a lifelong condition or a short-term but significant stressor, we all experience challenges to our mental, physical, and emotional health. As we endured the stress of a global pandemic, society got better at acknowledging the prevalence of these issues, however, stigma still exists. The more we share openly about our struggles in supportive community, the more we realize just how normal those struggles are and how telling our stories helps both ourselves and others.

Learn to share your stories of resilience to help you and others become more resilient. This is an online, live, two-session class on June 9 and 16 from 11am-12:30pm Central time. This class will not be recorded.

This workshop will include:

  • What is resilience and how can we foster it in ourselves
  • How to discover, craft, and share a story about resilience
  • Story coaching
  • Storytelling tips and tricks
  • Story prompts
  • Writing prompts
  • An optional story swap
  • A handout rich with resources
  • A community of like-minded storytellers

Join professional storyteller Laura Packer for a fun, supportive, and effective workshop on telling your stories of resilience. No previous storytelling experience is necessary, and prompts will be provided to help you find your narrative.

The stories we tell matter. Whether we are telling to kids, crafting a presentation for work, preparing for a concert, or something else entirely, what we say and how we say it is important.

Listening matters. When we listen to each other we find understanding and compassion we might otherwise have missed.

Storyteller, coach, and author Laura Packer has 30+ years of experience helping people create and share stories, listen to each other more deeply, and leading organizations and individuals to better stories and deeper self-understanding.. She understands the transformational power of storytelling and listening, and how they help us understand ourselves, each other, and the world.

In addition to her award-winning performance and writing work, Laura is an experienced coach and educator, helping people understand themselves, their stories, and their worlds.. Her coaching and teaching work ranges from storytelling to writing to creativity to social change and more, and has been described as "transformational."
