Make the most of your Buffalo Zoo visit with an up-close experience with some of your favorite animals! Animal encounters offer a unique opportunity for Zoo visitors to go behind the scenes in an exhibit while learning about our animals from the keepers who work with them every single day.
During this private, 25-30 minute encounter, our experienced keepers will take guests behind the scenes to come face-to-face with one of our rhinos, learn about their daily care, and our conservation efforts in the wild. Rhino encounters are available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm. All guests must be at least six years of age to take part in the Rhino encounter. Encounters are $150 for up to six guests. There are no exceptions on party size. Encounter tickets do not include Zoo admission.

All guests will undergo a health screening prior to being allowed entry into the Zoo. Any guests displaying a temperature of 100.4 or above will not be allowed entry, including those in their party. If you have a temperature of 100.4 F or higher you will not be permitted access into the Buffalo Zoo.
For the safety of you and your fellow guests, we ask that you wear a mask at all times inside the Zoo and maintain social distancing between other guests.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting the Buffalo Zoo, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
