The Rhode Island 250 Commission and the Rhode Island Historical Society are pleased to bring you a six-part series of educator professional development on Rhode island History leading up to the 250th anniversary of our nation. At this second session, "Rhode Island’s Revolutionary Spirit- From the Burning of the Gaspee to the Battle of Rhode Island", explore the impact of the burning of the HMS Gaspee and the significance of the American Revolution's Battle of 1778 in Newport. This workshop will emphasize Rhode Island’s contributions to the American Revolution and the French-American alliance.  

Free lessons and resources will be provided to all educators who attend, as well as a letter for 1 1/2 hours of professional development points and a $100 stipend.
