About the Performers

Steve Gilbert 

Steve is a passionate blues artist. Forming The Scraps in Los Angeles, an alternative roots band known for high-energy performances during the 80s, he returned to Houston in the 90s and co-founded the H-Town Jukes, crafting a critically acclaimed album celebrating classic Gulf Coast blues.

Today, Steve captivates audiences by blending old-school gutbucket blues with dynamic rockabilly energy. A skilled songwriter and producer, his performances deliver authentic blues originals and reimagined covers that honor Houston’s storied musical heritage.

 

Kirky TG 

Kirky pushes the boundaries of Urban Blues, seamlessly blending tradition with avant-garde innovation. Drawing from genres like jazz, classical, and hip-hop, he creates sounds rooted in history alongside boldly forward-thinking motifs.

Known for his expressive guitar work and custom-built instruments, Kirky’s artistry of musical evolution spanning three decades earned collaborations with several legends, while redefining contemporary blues with every performance.

 

The Mighty Orq 

Houston-based master strionist and storyteller celebrated for rich Gulf Coast Roots sounds: a fusion of delta blues, folk, rock, and psychedelia. Orq’s career spans decades of accolades, including Houston Press Music Awards and International Blues Challenge recognition.

His latest album, Stolen, showcases vivid storytelling and genre-spanning artistry, from the haunting “Boogie Man” to the dynamic instrumental “Suspended.” Orq’s live performances are immersive, delivering emotional resonance and unmatched musicality. With nine albums, The Mighty Orq continues to captivate audiences both nationally and internationally with his enchanting approach to music.
