Friday 1-2:30 MTB 101: The Foundations
Designed for the newer rider whip wants to build a solid foundation for safe and fun riding
Prerequisite: A desire to want to ride safer and have more fun
Possible skills to be taught: Review of bike controls, Basic body positions, Climbing and descending "green" trails, Basic Braking
Friday 2:45-4:15 MTB 102: Progressing The Foundations
Designed for a beginner rider with some experience who wants to develop more skills
Prerequisite: MTB 101 or equivalent/ the ability to perform the skills listed in mtb101
Possible skills to be taught: Quick review of MTB101 skills, Navigating obstacles 2" or smaller, Intro to corners, ascending and descending bails
Friday 4:30-5 Focus session pumping for efficiency
Designed for the rider looking to improve efficiency on trail by pumping
Prerequisite: MTB 101 or equivalent/ the ability to perform the skills listed in mtb101
Saturday 9-10:30 MTB 201 Intro to Technical riding
Designed for the intermediate rider who wants to build a solid foundation for more technical skills.
Prerequisite: A desire to grow and refine skills, MTB 101-102 or equivalent/ability to perform skills listed in both .
Possible skills to be taught: A quick review of MTB 101/102 skills, north shore dismount, high speed braking, body position for technical riding, descending blue trails with small roll downs, intro to wheel lifts.
Saturday 10:45-12:15 MTB 202 Technical riding progressions
Designed for the intermediate rider who wants to build on a solid foundation for more technical skills.
Prerequisite: MTB 101, 102, and 202 OR the ability to perform skills listed
Possible skills to be taught: Progressing cornering, Slow speed turns/switchbacks, Wheel lifts (front, rear, pedaling)
Saturday 1-2:30 MTB 301 Intro to Jumps
Designed for the intermediate rider who wants to begin catching small air safely
Prerequisite: MTB 202 or ability to perform all skills listed in the series
Possible skills to be taught: Manual wheel lift, bump jump, body position for jumps, how to load and unweight the bike
Saturday 2:45-3:45 Focus session: Wheel lifts
Ideal for the rider who wants to navigate larger obstacles on trails.
Prerequisite: MTB 101 and 102 or ability to demonstrate skills in those sessions and ability to ride blue level trails confidently
Possible Pre skills and Skills to be taught: Load/Explode, Lunge, Front wheel lift, Rear wheel lift, Manual, Pedal wheel lift, Level Lift, Intro to bunny hops
Saturday 4:00-5:00 Focus session: High Speed Cornering
Prerequisite: MTB 101 and 102 or ability to demonstrate skills in those sessions and ability to ride blue level trails confidently
Skills to be taught: side to side bike/body separation, foot wedge, counterbalance
Sunday 9-10:30 Roll down/Drops
Prerequisite: MTB 101 and 102 or ability to demonstrate skills in those sessions and ability to ride blue level trails confidently
Skills to be taught: rolling down features up to 18", introduction to drops off features up to 18"
Sunday 10:45-11:45 Focus session: Wheel lifts
Ideal for the rider who wants to navigate larger obstacles on trails.
Prerequisite: MTB 101 and 102 or ability to demonstrate skills in those sessions and ability to ride blue level trails confidently
