RYAN BURNS & THE VOCAL GHOSTS
Raised throughout the midwest and living in Chicago, Ryan Burns plays music colored with the simple values of his surroundings. After spending his childhood singing and playing songs, it wasn't until he was an adult that he realized his calling to make music. Now Ryan plays genre-bending Americana songs on his banjo and guitar, winning over audiences with his combination of thoughtful songwriting and cathartic vocals. While mainly drawing on American folk music, Ryan’s influences also dig into his background as an ethnomusicology major, pulling in sounds from Mande drumming, spacey rock, and Irish traditional music.

LYN RYE
Lyn Rye is a Chicago bassist, singer, and composer and released their debut album Roots of Rye in January 2019.
"As a versatile bassist who plays with folk, jazz, hip-hop, and rock musicians, Rye is someone who can create genuine newness. Being able to create beats, sing, play bass, and collaborate allows them to escape any boxes threatening to confine their music to genres."

A southern rascal lost in the heart of Chicago started ruminating on what music might mean to him, five, ten, fifteen years down the road. How might sounds of the past circle back around? The answers lay hidden in the songs. A recent Merlefest Songwriting Competition finalist, Wright Gatewood is currently supporting his new EP vol. 1: the city, the first in his Wayward Triptych series. With an emotional palette that plays with your heart strings, Wright strives to bring ideals of the helpless wanderers, the rapscallions of yesteryear, and the dreamers of tomorrow to your ears as he pieces the parts together.
