Description
S-38 and the Interstellar War
When a cosmic wormhole suddenly appears in the Alpha Centari system and an alien space fleet arrives through the opening, initial hopes of friendly "first contact" are dashed by an unprovoked attack on nearby Starbase Pearl. Because it happens to be cruising in the quadrant, tiny Subspace Starship S-38 is urgently reassigned from its routine survey work and tasked with intercepting the unknown armada.
The Cold Equations
Life is harsh on the frontiers of outer space. A young girl stowing-away on a shuttle dispatched to deliver lifesaving medicine to a remote planet has disastrous consequences.
