Description

The Jewish Food Lab welcomes Professors Ilan Stavans and Margaret E. Boyle, co-authors of Sabor Judío: The Jewish Mexican Cookbook

Monday, March 17, 2025
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Stalford Hall, Glazer Campus

In this exciting event, Ilan and Margaret will share family Jewish-Mexican immigration stories, in the network of Ashkenazi, Sephardic and Mizrahi diasporas, and how these rich culinary traditions evolved as they blended with the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine. From the early days of crypto-Jews practicing in secret to the diverse Jewish community in Mexico today, they will discuss how these unique food cultures came together to create the delicious and diverse recipes featured in their book.

Tastings and demos will be included as we hear from the authors themselves about the fascinating intersection of Jewish and Mexican culinary traditions, and get a taste of the vibrant, flavorful dishes that have been passed down through generations. Don't miss this opportunity!
