Sam Price and The True Believers are coming to The Broadside!  The True Believers deliver songs that are alternately upbeat and rocking, slinky and funky, or mellow and poignant, with lyrics that are honest, thoughtful, and “so from the heart, it hurts!”  Doors 7pm.  Show 8pm

 

The True Believers music seeks to inspire, uplift, empower and energize... to speak to our common shared humanity. We believe that love, the most powerful force in the Universe, is the soul of mankind.

 

Formed by bassist/singer Sam Price (Honey Island Swamp Band, OTRA) in Dec. 2015 as an outlet for his original song-writing, the band has quickly gained popularity in New Orleans. Their debut EP was chosen as the ‘Best Roots Rock Album of 2017’ by Offbeat Magazine. They were awarded a grant by the Threadhead Cultural Foundation the following year to record the 2019 album Dragonfly, produced by Papa Mali. They also released an album in 2023 produced by Anders Osbourne. Call it Soul Rock, New Orleans Roots Rock, Funk and Roll or Blue-Eyed Soul.

FAQ

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
  • We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  • Our outdoor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. If you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
