We’ve all seen the news about ICE hunting down immigrants where they work, go to church or school, walk the dog, or just try to fly home for a holiday. What is it like to be an immigrant child or family detained by ICE? How did we get to this point? What can we do about it? Distinguished immigration and human rights attorney Hope Frye, who has worked on law and policy and litigated cases under eight US presidents, lays it all out for us. Come hear her riveting presentation, and be inspired to hope and to act!

About the Speaker
Hope Frye has been an immigration and human rights attorney for almost 50 years, working on law and policy and litigating cases under eight US presidents. A passionate advocate for immigrant children’s rights, she co-founded and is executive director of Project Lifeline, a nonprofit dedicated to helping immigrant children secure legal status. She is past president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and former board chair of the Center for Human Right and Constitutional Law. In her capacity as lead monitoring attorney under the Flores Settlement agreement—which set standards for the detention and release of immigrant children—Hope testified before Congress in 2019 on conditions for children held in cages by CBP.
