Description
Originally from Louisiana, the Savery Brothers have toured and performed throughout the U.S., Canada & Europe. They won the "Marlboro Talent Round Up" in 1997 and So. California's Entertainer Magazine Awards in 1999 and 2000. Great original songs, strong vocals, and a tight band make this group one of the best.
"The Savery Brothers do more than simply revive the Americana music of the past.... They enhance it with elements of the blues, rockabilly and the Cajun folk music of the Louisiana bayou country."
- Thomas K Arnold
LOS ANGELES TIMES
"The Savery Brothers, a wildly popular San Diego-based band that underscored just how feisty and exciting that musical genre known as Americana has become of late."
- Jason McCloskey
HOLLYWOOD DRAMA-LOGUE 04-10-99
"The Savery Brothers Band has reinvigorated the San Diego music scene by mixing up traditions of rhythm 'n' blues riffs, high-energy dance music, Cajun tunes from the bayou country, and something they call ultra twang. The mix has clicked with the open-minded local music fans”
- Ken Leighton
TIMES-ADVOCATE
(Savery Brothers open tour at the San Diego Sports Arena)
"What do you get when you wedge Merle Haggard between the Judds and Alabama?... This may sound hopeless parochial, but the brightest musical moment of the night was the first 30 minutes of the show, allotted to San Diego’s Savery Brothers Band. It was not calculated. It was fun. There was diversity there was a sense of joy, a passion for the music, an honest exuberance that left the stage with them and never returned.... Don't get me wrong, The Savery Brothers Band didn't steal the show. Given another 15 minutes or so it might have."
- Robert J. Hawkins
THE SAN DIEGO TRIBUNE
"One for the good guys: The Savery Bros., those renegades from San Diego who insist on playing heart-felt, powerful Americana music."
