For this final holiday hootenanny of 2021, scatterjazz has assembled a never-before cast of titans for one night only of wintertime sound-sculpture.

         Fans of modern New Orleans music surely need no introduction to maestro Johnny Vidacovich on the drums, nor to his long-time rhythm-mate Mike Dillon on vibraphone & percussion, nor to globe-trotting Grammy-winning saxophone sorcerer Brad Walker... However, on this night, that never-before-grouping welcomes very special guest Thomas Helton, a bassist, composer, improviser and sound-artist from Houston who is one of the most unique stylists of the contrabass in the Gulf South today.  These are four of the heaviest cats on the planet, and new situations in sound will surely be synthesized...

FAQ

  •  We are not currently an all ages venue. You must be 18 and up for entry. We are actively working to get back to our former all ages status.
  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
     
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •  
  •  We have a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
