The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership's Community Kitchen is a cookery school where everyone can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food with others. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together. By paying for a cookery class, you help other people to attend cookery activities, regardless of finance, confidence or ability, and to make lasting changes to their lives.

A chance for your child to learn classic cookery skills while creating tasty Indian dishes this half-term.
We are back with our cookery sessions this school holiday for the young cook in your life. This fun, hands-on workshop with Chef Kanthi is perfect for young aspiring chefs! Learn the skills and recipes involved in creating delicious Indian cuisine, from chopping to frying.
The menu:
- Veggie curry- combine vegetables, spices & coconut milk to create a flavourful yet gentle curry.
- Learn a simple method to prepare a yummy, nutritional and traditional chickpea side dish.
- Homemade flatbread- Get hands-on and discover how to mix, roll, and cook your very own flatbreads.
Dietary requirements: The menu for this class is vegetarian. The class involves cooking with nuts & seeds. For any other dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us to discuss before booking.

About your chef
Kanthi Thamma was born and raised in Hyderabad, the culinary capital of southern India and is still inspired by its history, food and flavours of his childhood. It was in his mother’s kitchen where he was inspired to become a chef, a journey that has seen him travel the world in search of culinary inspiration and excellence. He setup successful local restaurants, Curry Leaf Cafe and Easy Tiger, Palmito and his most recent venture The Spice Circuit Kitchen. He also runs gastronomic tours in the South of India & Sri Lanka as the Spice Circuit, taking groups to Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu’s rich culture and cuisines.
