Step aboard the Catawba Riverkeeper’s Floating Classroom and experience Lake Norman like never before. Equipped with microscopes, water sampling tools, and expert guidance, this hands-on program invites participants to explore the health of our local waters. 

You’ll collect samples, examine aquatic life, and learn the scientific techniques used to monitor water quality. By the end of the trip, you’ll understand what it means to be a “Riverkeeper” and how we can all play a role in protecting our waterways.

 

Please note:

  • This program is open to ages 12 and up
  • Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
  • Vessel departs at 1:35 PM and returns at 3:00 PM
  • Restrooms are available at the Marina but not onboard
  • All guests are required to wear a properly fitted PFD provided by Catawba Riverkeeper while aboard

 

Refund Policy

 

To request a refund, please contact Morgan Long, Deputy Director of Programs, at morgan@catawbariverkeeper.org. Refund eligibility is determined based on the timestamp of your email request and follows the schedule below:

  • 8 or more days before the event – Full refund
  • 7 days to 25 hours before the event – 50% refund
  • 24 hours or less before the event – No refund

 

If you are unable to attend and choose not to request a refund, your ticket purchase may be turned into a donation to Catawba Riverkeeper.
