Join us for our Science Saturdays presented by TIAA!

Participants will have an opportunity to spend time in nature learning about the topic of the workshop, 
play games, and make a craft!

Open to ages 6-13

Time: 9 AM - 12 PM

Cost: $15/participant

Location: Catawba Riverkeeper HQ/The River Room

Workshop Topics:

July 8 - Movement of Nature - Explore the the ways nature moves and the important roles movement plays in nature

  • Wind, water, seasons
  • Enjoy a nature Scavenger Hunt
  • Create nature chimes or mobile craft

July 22 - All Things Trees - Explore and identify trees along the McAdenville Greenway

  • Play tree games!
  • Create a unique craft using leaves you collect!

July 29 - Beavers - Explore a beaver wetland and learn about their importance to a healthy ecosystem

  • Play beaver games (maybe even become a beaver!)
  • Create your own beaver craft to take home


Additional Information

Please note that a participant will not be permitted to attend a Catawba Riverkeeper Education Program without submitting a completed and signed "Assumption of Risk and Release Form" and "Anti-Bullying Policy Agreement".  These forms will be included with the registration forms participants receive after purchasing a ticket, but can be viewed online beforehand here.

Registration documents must be submitted before the start date of the program.

Programs will run rain or shine each day!


Refund Policy

  • 1 or more weeks before the program you are eligible for a 100% refund of your ticket purchase.
  • 1 to 6 days before program  you are eligible for a 50% refund of your ticket purchase.
  • After start time of the program you are no longer eligible for a refund.
  • If your child is dismissed from a program for disciplinary reasons* no refund will be given for the ticket purchase.

*Disciplinary related dismissal as defined and outlined in our Anti-Bullying Policy
