** SCIENCE DAY ** with The Award Winning Science Boffins :)
Science Boffins play with the world’s natural phenomena and present amazing scientific experiments and demonstrations, specifically created to be interactive and to illuminate elements of the KS1 and KS2 school curriculum.
Boffins explore science in madcap ways that thrill children and teach them that the brilliance of science can be seen in everything around them.
We have two incredible workshops available suitable for 5-12 year old's, each workshop is one hour long, and every child gets something amazing to go home with :) :)
INCREDIBLE ILLUSIONS: £10 per child.
Can you trust your own eyes?
Boffins bring incredible scientific illusions to amaze, confuse and trick your senses and see which young Boffins are sharp enough to figure it out. An interesting assortment examining the fine line between magic and science - FREE Dinosaur Kit for each child to take home :)
There are three sessions to choose from...
9.30am to 10.30am
11am to 12pm
12.15pm to 1.15pm
PLASMA BALL AND PLAYFUL POLYMERS WORKSHOP: £10 per child.
A workshop bringing together film industry visual effects with a very scientific slant. Expect jaws to drop with amazement. You bet they will fancy the creation of Frankenstein like plasma flashes, a miniature lightening strike or electricity being passed through their bodies to light a fluorescent tube or deliver a high voltage shock on their noses. From Tesla coils we talk about polymers and how they are used on film sets to make noxious slime. The technique is fascinating and the resultant take home pot of slime – irresistible.
