UPDATED EVENT DETAILS: Join us at The Broadside for a screening of "Mr Melvin" with video intro by Lloyd Kaufman (director of the original 1984 Toxic Avenger and owner of Troma FIlms). The evening will include an opening set of live music from The Pallbearers at 6:30pm.  PLUS, special guest appearance and Q&A with Tromaville icon, Lisa Gaye!

Note: Lloyd Kaufman incurred a minor injury this week. He is fine, but sadly cannot travel to be with us in person. He will, however, make a special video appearance for us to share at this special event!

"Mr. Melvin" is the original title of the combined footage from 1989's The Toxic Avenger Part II and 1991's The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie. Troma filmmakers Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz originally shot the story as one film but split it into two sequels due to an abundance of footage. 36 years later, "Mr. Melvin" reconstructs these two films into their intended, single-movie form, based on the recently unearthed original script"

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
  • We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  • Our outdoor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. If you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
