Description

The National Marine Life Center invites you to visit our Discovery Center to view our brand new sea turtle triage room!

All species of sea turtles are either threatened or endangered. Cape Cod is home to the largest annual stranding of cold stunned, or hypothermic, sea turtles. Our new cold room is kept at 55º where the first stage of the triage process begins. Strandings are dependent on winds and tides so turtles may not be in the 55º room at the time of your visit. Turtles will be visible through viewing windows or via monitors, which link to our hospital rehabilitation pools. Your ticket fee goes directly towards helping us save as many of these turtles as possible. We thank you for your support!

Cancellation must be 24 hours in advance. If within 24 hours, no refund will be issued.

Please be aware, that this is not a tour of our animal hospital. National Marine Life Center is a marine wildlife rehabilitation hospital, so we do not allow the public into the hospital where we house our seal and sea turtle patients.

National Marine Life Center

Founded in 1995, the National Marine Life Center is an independent, non-profit organization. We rehabilitate and release stranded marine mammals and sea turtles in order to advance science and education in marine wildlife health and conservation.

Marine animals make ideal teaching tools. Dolphins, whales, seals, and sea turtles are charismatic and interesting. The ocean depths in which they live are mysterious and exciting. By using marine animals as subject material, National Marine Life Center instructors address topics from biology to physics, writing composition to art, math to technology.
