Join us for the Second Age-Friendly Summit on Thursday, June 4 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Asheville - Biltmore located at 115 Hendersonville Road. This year's theme is Health Span Matters: Thriving Across the Years, with topics including healthy aging, improving mental and brain health, staying engaged, reaching financial goals, and more. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
The event will include Keynote Presentations about Givens Communities community-based services which provide education, support and peace of mind to all older adults in the region and the YMCA's holistic vision for aging well, centered on nurturing spirit, mind, and body. Breakout Sessions include: Enriching Mental Health with Complementary Treatments; Using Community Health Data to Inform Planning, Storytelling, and Decision-making in Aging Services; Addressing the Social Determinants of Health and The Value of Value Based Care; The Older Americans Act: National Vision, Local Impact; Building Purpose and Connection As We Age; Staying Engaged As We Age; Money Foundations; and Land of Sky Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman and Friends Against Fraud Programs.
