The Route 22 Pedestrian/Bicyclist Bridge - Hoodlebug Trail
Planners have been discussing trail network gaps in southern Indiana County for nearly 20 years. A key obstacle was crossing the busy US Route 22 corridor in Burrell Township. The solution was an overhead crossing near the US Route 119 interchange. The resulting Route 22 Pedestrian/Bicyclist Bridge will serve as a keystone project in the effort to safely connect the Hoodlebug, Ghost Town, Blairsville Riverfront, and West Penn trails and provide economic development opportunities in the region.
