Set to Serve: Respite and Companion Care III is a special workshop for the Iowa East District of the LCMS made possible in part by a grant from The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Iowa East District.
This workshop is an optional "add on" to the LWML Iowa East District Fall Retreat. Registration for the retreat and for overnight facilities at the camp must be made separately at https://lwml-ied.org/event-items/fall-retreat-2022/.
What is a Respite Companion Caregiver? A person trained to give planned or emergency care to a child or adult with a special need, in order to provide temporary relief to the family caregiver of that individual.
Why train for Respite Companion Care? Learn the necessary techniques and skills for safe, effective caregiving. Understand best practices and develop the confidence needed to offer respite and relief to families of people with special needs.
REST (Respite Education and Support Tools) is integrated into Set to Serve: Respite and Companion Care and offers continuing options for certification and advanced training.
Workshop includes: Live training - Q & A - Faith-based applications - Multiple disability scenarios
A training manual will be provided to participants at the workshop - a $20 donation is requested to cover printing costs and will be collected at workshop.
