Description
Liberation work is both/and, not either or.
As Audre Lorde wisely proclaim, “The erotic is a measure between the beginning of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings.” This measure is desire. Therefore, the erotic is the energy of desirability both sexually and non-sexually. Professionally, as a somatic sex therapist, clinical supervisor, and erotic coach, I’ve noticed how those I support struggle with desirability due to the impact of trauma like sexual anxiety, self-doubt, and lack of safer relationships and community spaces. Erotic liberation themes include creating embodied safety, developing self-trust, authentic consent, and one's erotic intelligence to experience embodied pleasure, and feel confident in their erotic embodiment shapes the ability to feel safe, intuitive, and empowered.
This professional learning intensive is designed for educators, coaches, mental health and medical professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of the relationship between the erotic and mind-body relationship in sexual health and sexual well-being. Through interactive modules, participants will explore the embodied intelligences of emotional intelligence, somatic intelligence, erotic intelligence with authentic consent, in addition to, whole-self approaches to sexuality with trauma-informed erosomatic practices. Activities include guided meditation, body mapping, consent activities, erotic affirmations, media reflection, and practical tools like SHIFT Somatic Healing Framework for integrating erosomatics into whole-self care. By the end, practitioners will gain actionable strategies to address sexual health holistically, ethically, and inclusively, fostering greater empathy and healing in their practices.
