Discover the art of Sgraffito with guest artist Jeff Osgood in this half day workshop on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.
Perfect for beginners, this class will teach you how to carve bold designs in underglaze to create crisp, high contrast imagery on clay. Jeff will guide you through the entire process, from planning your Halloween themed design to carving techniques that bring your spooky ideas to life.
You will make your own plate or small platter in the first hour of this workshop, then learn the art of Sgraffito for the remainder of the class. We'll provide all materials, glazing, and firing. Once your piece has been fired and glazed, it will be ready for pickup within a few weeks.
*Community Clay members are allowed to bring their own leatherhard piece to work on and should arrive at 11 if you are doing so.
This is an approachable way to try decorative ceramics or sharpen your surface design skills with a renowned local artist.
