Description

Join us for our first ever “Shadows of September:  A Rosedale Paranormal Festival” on Saturday, September 26th, just in time for National Ghost Hunting Day! Co-hosted by the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society (CAPS) and Great State Paranormal the event features a full day of family-friendly activities celebrating the Carolinas’ spirited side — all while supporting the preservation of one of Charlotte’s most treasured historic sites.

Spend the afternoon exploring a lively vendor market, enjoying activities on the grounds (such as an Easter-egg-hunt style “ghost hunt” for children), and hearing fascinating talks from paranormal investigators, historians, and storytellers who dig deep into the mysteries of the region.

That evening, join members of CAPS as they lead a scientific-minded ghost hunt of Historic Rosedale's 200+ year old house and grounds!  Using the latest investigative equipment (available for loan to attendees), CAPS takes guests on the search for Rosedale’s past residents throughout the grounds and cellar of the historic home, followed by a more intimate investigation inside the home itself (available for an additional ticket fee). Whether you’re a believer, a skeptic, or simply curious, it’s an unforgettable way to experience Rosedale after dark.

Tickets are available for the festival, the investigations, or all three together (vendor and club tables are also available). Every ticket sold helps protect and preserve this remarkable landmark. Come support history… and maybe meet a ghost or two along the way!

The Mission of Historic Rosedale Foundation is threefold: to educate, to preserve and to continue to build a more diverse and inclusive platform for interpretation. We shall: 1) Present an authentic view of five generations of the Frew, Caldwell and Davidson families, and the enslaved and free African Americans that lived and worked on the land; 2) Preserve and interpret the 1815 historic house and the surrounding buildings emphasizing the important role these white and black families held in Charlotte, NC; 3) Provide and maintain a peaceful green space with Treasure Trees, garden borders, native and heirloom plants within a highly developed urban corridor.
