Shaking Souls 

is the now long-running, globe-trotting duo of Helen Gillet on cello, loops, vox, etc. joining Swiss time-bender, percussion-puppet, instrument-builder and earth-shatterer Simon Berz.

Simon Berz & Helen Gillet have enjoyed a 15-year collaborative friendship since first they were put together on stage as strangers during Simon's very first visit to the Crescent City, hosted by Scatterjazz in 2007.

They have since performed together on several continents and dozens of cities and festivals, yet it remains a rare treat to have them meet again in New Orleans.

On this night, they will celebrate the release of "Weather Veins," a project recorded and produced before and during the pandemic, released by Tephra Sound Records.
Every time they get together to ROCK is a special event, and on this evening they will be joined in some fashion by special guest Mike Dillon on assorted percussions and tomfoolery

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
     
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •  We have a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
