About

Join us for an intimate evening showcasing Salon Séance's new work, Shape of Becoming and our community of friends and supporters!

Shape of Becoming explores the influence of people in our lives on our sense of identity, and how they help (or hinder) us in finding our unique voices. A live performance of Benjamin Britten’s String Quartet No. 2 will be the medium through which participants engage in personal exploration through deep listening activated by ritual and amplified by storytelling. The arc of the experience and the audience's self reflection and journey itself mirrors Britten’s own story of personal growth and transformation. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion on how we learn to find our unique selves, featuring members of our creative team - director Jay Stull and choreographer Take Ueyama.

Created by Mari Lee; Music by Benjamin Britten.

Performers: Claire Bourg, Mari Lee (violins), Laura Liu (viola), Josh Halpern (cello)
