SHEAR's K-12 Teacher Professional Development Workshops

Join the Rhode Island Historical and the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic (SHEAR) as they offer K-12 Professional Development Workshops for RI teachers as part of SHEAR's 46th Annual Meeting.

 

Sessions will be held in the morning (9:30am-12pm) and afternoon (1pm-3:30pm) on Thursday, July 17th at the John Brown House Museum in Providence. Educators who attend a single session will receive a $100 stipend, while teachers who opt to attend both sessions will receive a $175 stipend.

 

Sessions include:

Morning Session

9:45-10:45am: Dr. Manisha Sinha, University of Connecticut with “The Civil War as the Second American Revolution"

11am-12pm: Dr. Seth Rockman, Brown University with "Rhode Island in the American Revolution"

Afternoon Session

1:15 -2:15pm: Dr. Sara Georgini, Massachusetts Historical Society: with "The new politics of the new United States"

2:30- 3:30pm: Dr. Karin Wulf, Brown University with "Women and family in the American Revolution"

 

Space is extremely limited and early registration is strongly encouraged.
