Description

Step into the shadows this spooky season as we host a screening of Kwaidan (1964) – Masaki Kobayashi’s haunting masterpiece of Japanese cinema, based on stories from Lafcadio Hearn's collections of Japanese folk tales.

This cult horror classic weaves together ghostly tales of love, loss, and the supernatural, its striking visuals and eerie atmosphere earning it a place in film history. Perfectly timed for autumn chills, Kwaidan is the ideal companion to our exhibition as Ushaw is host the first showing of Kwaidan: Encounters with Lafcadio Hearn in the United Kingdom, featuring 40 individual prints from artists in response to the ghost stories and lots more!

Drinks will also be available to purchase at the bar in our Francis Thompson Lounge on the evening.

Please be aware, this film is rated 15.

Entry free, but pre-booking required below.
