Needle-Felted Wool Workshop with Jaana Mattson: Sunset over the MountainsAbout the workshop: In this single session we will work step-by-step together on a sunset scene over the subtle beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With all the right colors in your roving kit we will work through special techniques to capture the shades that define the distance perspective of this unique landscape.
An additional $30 materials fee paid to instructor due in class. These include a kit for each student with a range of dyed wool roving in the project palette, felting needles, acrylic felt pinned to a foam block, and printed materials. You will leave class with a finished piece and materials for more at home.
About the instructor: Jaana Mattson is a full-time professional artist who loves to make art and teach. Over the years, she has developed an innovative approach to needle-felting to create impressionistic and often photo-realistic landscapes from wool fiber that capture the vibrancy and nuance of the landscape.
