Sip and Stroll (21+)

July 3, August 7, September 4, October 2, 6-7:30 pm and November 6th 5-6:30pm.

 

Join us the first Thursday of the month for an after-hours, 21+ walking tour of a highlighted specialty garden featuring themed cocktails. This fun, casual program will lead you from station to station to learn from staff and featured community partners about our Garden and its ties within the Memphis community. Each ticket includes two specialty cocktails or mocktails and access to the tour. Additional beverages are also available to purchase.  

 

This program is rain or shine - cancelled for inclement weather. An email will be sent out by noon the day of the program for cancellations.

2025 Schedule

July 3 - We will be covering our Urban Home Garden, which serves as a resource for home gardeners, showing best gardening practices. This area covers several topics of food gardening, including raised beds, fruit trees, home composting, beekeeping, and chicken care.

August 7 : 6-7:30pm The kids have gone back to school and it's time for My Big Backyard to be adults-only! This is your opportunity to discover the art and horticulture practices in our family garden with over sixteen themed areas, each with their own story. Learn about the outdoor art pieces, try a boozy popsicle, and walk through our pollinator and edible gardens as you rediscover the whimsical wonders of nature.

September 4 : 6-7:30pm Peruse our dynamic Herb Garden which includes a formal garden featuring traditional herbs arranged by usage, a woodland displaying ethnobotanical plants from around the world by country of origin, and a meadow which includes some of the more vigorous herbs. Join us in discussing both traditional and modern herbal uses in tonics, salves, and more.

October 2 : 6-7:30pm Dare to join our special Potions and Poisons edition of Sip and Stroll. Join us on this haunted trek through the history and use of botanicals as deadly drinks and powerful tonics. This tour will take place primarily in the Herb Garden but feature plants found across the entire garden.

NEW TIME & LOCATION: November 6 : 5-6:30pm Have a toast to the trees in The Arboretum. Lean into the time change and join us for an evening learning about insects and our other nocturnal friends including bats and owls. Plus you'll enjoy UV light drinks and glowsticks.

 

This event is for adults only 21+. Advance registration is required.
