We talk about intelligence all the time, but we still can’t fully define it. And yet, we measure it, rank it, and use it to assign value not just to people, but to animals too.
This Sip Salon explores a provocative idea: what if intelligence isn’t one thing, but many? And what if the way we measure it says more about us than it does about the beings we’re measuring?
From emotional and artistic intelligence to the complex behaviors of animals, we’ll dig into how intelligence shows up in different forms and how our human-centered perspective may be limiting what we’re able to see.
Together, we’ll unpack questions like:
Are animals intelligent in ways we don’t fully understand?
Do we overvalue certain types of intelligence?
And what happens when intelligence becomes tied to worth?
This isn’t a lecture, it’s a conversation.
