10 Lincoln Center PlazaFlamenco Reimagined at Lincoln Center. New York Premiere.
From sold-out performances across the globe, international flamenco star Siudy Garrido returns to NYC with a powerful new production that blends the raw passion of traditional flamenco with a striking contemporary flair.
BAILAORA is Siudy Garrido’s groundbreaking flamenco and dance production, making its highly anticipated debut at Lincoln Center. Nominated for a Latin Grammy®, this powerful work is more than a performance—it is an exciting, deeply personal narrative of perseverance and triumph, brought to life through rhythm, music, and movement.
Garrido stands out as a singular and compelling force in flamenco today, currently celebrating her 25th anniversary tour. Renowned for her collaborations with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as flamenco legends like Antonio Canales, Garrido proposes innovative aesthetics in the art form.
Siudy Garrido and the company have been described by the media as “mesmerizing,” “brilliant,” and “vibrant.” She is recognized as a barrier-breaking artist, blending traditional and contemporary techniques into a flamenco style that is uniquely her own.
The full title of the work, “BAILAORA, Mis pies son mi voz” ("My feet are my voice"), defines her percussive footwork as her expressive voice. The piece creates a kinetic experience that infuses Latin jazz and world music into a percussive dialogue between dancer and musicians that is as thrilling as it is soul-stirring.
Composed and directed by fifth-generation flamenco maestro Juan Parrilla, the production features an ensemble of seven world-class flamenco musicians. Alongside Garrido’s acclaimed flamenco ballet, the work departs from folkloric, traditional flamenco and embarks on a journey of unique and contemporary expression—delivering breathtaking precision, stunning costumes, and the unmistakable passion of flamenco.
