Novice-friendly instruction + optional group skate + post-skate drink included.
This session is perfect for skaters who aren’t brand new but want to feel more confident and comfortable (especially skating outdoors on concrete.)
We’ll begin at The People’s Tap, then head to a nearby area along the Swamp Rabbit Trail for a guided lesson led by Angela Pitts of Roller Time Skating Academy, a certified instructor with 22 years of experience.
After instruction, there’s an optional group skate before returning to the taproom to relax and enjoy a well-earned drink.
Event Details:
Instruction begins promptly at 6:30 PM
Lesson + optional group skate runs until 7:30 PM
Return to The People’s Tap around 7:30 PM for a post-skate social
What to know:
Designed for novice skaters (not your first time)
Intermediate skaters welcome
Bring your own skates (roller skates or blades)
Protective gear highly recommended (we’ll be on concrete)
Dress for the weather + wear comfortable shoes. We may walk a short distance to find the best spot for the group
A waiver will be required to participate

Come solo or bring a friend. This is all about building confidence, getting outside, and having a good time.
About the Instructor:
Angela Dill Pitts is the owner of Roller Time Skating Academy and Roller Time Family Skate Center in Easley, SC. A lifelong skater, she began skating at age 3 and started competing nationally by age 8. She is a multi-time national champion and has coached competitive skaters to national podium finishes. With 22+ years of teaching experience, Angela leads instruction throughout the Upstate in schools, churches, and recreational programs. She also travels the country skating and sharing her experiences on social media as @Angelask8s.
