Built by our family, for yours.
The story of Skinny Bones started long before we officially opened our gates in 2008. Growing up in La Vista, Nebraska, Jeff Bledsoe planted pumpkins in his parents’ backyard every year, always especially proud of the biggest pumpkin in his patch.
Years later, after Jeff and his wife, Maria, purchased land along Highway 133 in Blair, Jeff told her that someday it would become a pumpkin patch. Before long, his old pickup was parked at the end of the driveway, loaded with pumpkins, while their five kids helped wave down passing cars.
In 2008, Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch officially came to life.
What started with a pickup full of pumpkins has grown into 138 acres of fall fun with 35+ attractions, food, flowers, pumpkins, festivals and experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Jeff’s creativity can still be seen throughout the farm, with many of our most unique attractions built by him and carrying special meaning for our family. The windmill was once a birthday present for Maria, our stage was built for their daughter Courtney’s wedding, and the Jack-O-Shooters were created in loving memory of Jeff’s father, Jack.
And Skinny Bones is still very much a family operation. Today, two of Jeff and Maria’s children, Courtney and Jared, along with Courtney’s husband, Kyle, help carry on the family tradition and lead the day-to-day operations of Skinny Bones. Together, our family continues dreaming up what’s next while holding onto what made this place special from the beginning.
Now celebrating our 19th season, we’re incredibly grateful that Skinny Bones has become part of so many families’ fall traditions, too. We believe a day at the pumpkin patch should be filled with good old-fashioned fun, one-of-a-kind experiences and plenty of opportunities to make memories together.
One admission. 35+ attractions. No paying at every turn.
From our family to yours, thank you for being part of the Skinny Bones story. We can’t wait to welcome you to the farm this fall!
Fun fall memories,
The Bledsoe Family
