Sugarloaf volunteer Sarah Reid will lead a slow but nature-filled walk up Lower Bald Mountain trail, documenting wildlife via the iNaturalist app. If you haven't used iNaturalist, or haven't made an observation for a while, this is your chance - just make sure to load the iNaturalist app on your phone before you arrive. Meet at the White Barn. Bring water, comfortable shoes, a fully-charged mobile device or camera, sun protection, and if you'd like, binoculars/ a hand lens. We will observe County Health orders including mask-wearing and physical distancing. Parking fees apply; rains cancel.
City Nature Challenge runs from April 30th to May 3rd, 2021. It’s a bioblitz-style competition where cities are in a contest against each other to see who can make the most observations of nature, who can find the most species, and who can engage the most people.
This event is part of the Challenge along with other events scheduled from 4/30-5/3.
