SMOKE: A Ballad of the Night Riders
The calm farming communities of The Black Patch are just a generation removed from the dark and suppressed history of The Tobacco Wars. In a story that still unfolds today, SMOKE: A Ballad of the Night Riders, sheds light on the corporate greed that turned farmer against farmer, brother against brother, and gave rise to the masked vigilantes: The Night Riders. In an open air theater that surrounds audiences with the sweet smell of Dark Fired Tobacco from the descendants of these very farmers, SMOKE’s fiery bluegrass score propels audiences into the lives of one farming family and the impossible decisions that plowed a deep and lasting wound on The Black Patch forever.
