Description

CRAFT SERVICES WORKSHOP

Is the department in film, television, Media and video production which provides cast and crew with snacks, drinks and other assistance Craft service workers are nicknamed "crafties" because they provide their services to the other departments, known as crafts, in a set. Craft service is also an IATSE craft and the work is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Craft service is different from catering; craft service refers to the food always available to the crew while they are working, while catering is provided by a catering company or a restaurant and handles full meals.

DAWN BIRD

Dawn's first experience on craft was as a craft assistant on the set of the Tallman back in 2012.

The only experience she had prior to that was working as a District Specialist for Lob-laws in the Deli Department for 5 years, but that experience became a transferable skill that was easily applied to craft. After that, Dawn quickly worked her way up to Head of craft on several film and commercial sets. Lauren Lindsay (AKA: Fluff) who worked in craft for 31 years played a big role in teaching me all I know.

She has worked with the likes of BradPitt, Woody Harrelson, John Travolta, Christopher Reeves and Sylvester Stallone, just to name a few.

JOLENE KRISKA
Jolene was initially introduced to Craft Service by Dawn, but later got a crash course from Fluff who quickly realized how little instruction Jolene needed being the fast learner that she is and has done her fair share of Craft Service with her first show being A.R.C.H.I.E. back in 2016 followed by ANOTHER WOLDCOP in 2017.
