$75 for Italian Pasta Workshop with family style pasta meal (Paul Cullen wine and other beverages avlbl for purchase).  
You can make pasta anywhere if you have flour and water. These workshops are all about using your hands and some basic tools: no eggs, no machines or fancy equipment required! You will learn how to make a classic southern Italian pasta dough, which will then be hand-formed into some traditional southern Italian shapes. This is a hands-on pasta workshop.

 Bring your appetite!! Complimentary focaccia and dessert are included in the workshop! 

 The Workshop:

  • Chef Frank will demonstrate how to mix semolina dough and the featured sauce for the evening
  • Chef Frank will demonstrate how to cut, roll, and shape pasta using only your hands and some simple tools
  • Each participant will get a pre-made dough ball to cut and shape under Chef supervision.

What you will learn:

  • The proper way to mix and knead pasta
  • Correct ratios of flour and liquid to make perfect pasta every time
  • How to shape pasta using only your hands and boards
  • The benefits of pasta water
  • Proper cooking and storing techniques

 How this works:

  • Chef Frank will bring ALL the necessary equipment and food products for the hands-on workshop.
  • Participants will make their own pasta
  • A pairing sauce will be provided to enjoy with your cooked pasta.
  • If applicable, parents and grandparents should assist small children, which makes for a great interactive experience.  Chef Frank will assist where necessary. 
  • We then enjoy our pasta in a family style meal!  Paul Cullen wine is available for sale at the event.
  • Chef Frank will supply a focaccia and a surprise dessert for all to enjoy at the end of the workshop.

  • No prior pasta making experience necessary.
  • This class is not gluten free.
  • This class will include a dough making demonstration by the instructor.
  • With pre-prepared pasta dough, you will learn how to create several interesting and unique pasta shapes by hand using common household tools as well as being introduced to more specialized pasta tools.
  • Please contact us to discuss any dietary requirements. Please note not all requirements can be accommodated due to the nature of the class.
  • Additional Paul Cullen wines are available for purchase at the event. Please drink responsibly.
  • Bring your appetite, we will be cooking all the pasta we make during the workshop!!

Paul Kares

Paul Kares is a nonprofit organization whose mission is dedicated to educating aspiring chefs or musicians, focusing on kids and young adults who show interest and passion for culinary and musical arts. Paul Kares will weave together how these passions could be the foundation for life-long career for young people who are not necessarily college-bound and how they can hone their skills to be a personal chef, sommelier, performer, or all the above. Plus, Paul Kares will get them the tools like musical instruments, knives, etc for the students who can’t afford them and will donate to school systems that need equipment for their classrooms.
