Description

The White River Wind Symphony will present its 10 th annual Sounds of America concert onvSunday, June 28 at 4:00 p.m. at Legacy Bible Church in Fishers. This year’s special theme, in celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America, will be a musical history of our nation through song and narration. Featured soloists will be Julie Lyn Barber performing the “Sandy Patti” version of the Star Spangled Banner and a trumpet trio—Keith Whitford, Rich Jeffries, Darlies Jones—performing the premiere of a new arrangement of God of Our Fathers by conductor Dr. Keith Kunda, written specifically for this concert.

Also included in the concert will be the White River Symphony Chorale performing a 12-minute mini-musical entitled What Price Freedom? accompanied by the wind symphony, which is the professional concert band in Fishers.

This special event will also include two narrators, plus Dr. Mike Linville reading from important documents from our nation’s history. Dr. Kunda, conductor, said, “This concert will be the culmination of three years of planning of content and personnel. Everyone will leave with a new appreciation for the gift we have been given to live in the United States of America.”
