Description
Join Chorus Austin on April 23, 2022 for "Southwest Voices: I/Me/We" featuring our Chamber Ensemble and the treble voices from our Symphonic Chorus! A staple in the Chorus Austin season since 2013, Southwest Voices always features new choral music, often by composers of the Southwest region. This year, the concert will also focus on themes of identity. We are also proud to present THREE WORLD PREMIERES in this concert of I Am A Ruby by Joan Szymko*, Cut by Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, and Clark Street Bridge by Nicholas Ryan Kelly. This concert will also feature the performances of our 2022 Composers Competition Winners!
To join us virtually, tune into www.youtube.com/ChorusAustin on the day of the concert. Tickets are not required to watch virtually, though donations are appreciated.
*Commission and world premiere performance of "I Am A Ruby" made possible in part by Gail Minault, and South Asia Institute, University of Texas at Austin.
