Located in the center of Connecticut's largest historic district, the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum provides the quintessential New England experience.
Description
Join us for Spice Voyage - a pop-up meal experience blending Caribbean flavors and historical artifacts from the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum on Saturday, March 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. You'll enjoy live music and a delicious four-course meal specially prepared by Distinctive Ideas. Kristiann Vargas, owner of Distinctive Ideas, is passionate about the art of Pop- Up Dining. By blending good food and drink with entertainment and ambiance, Vargas creates experiences for diners in unique ways, setting the stage for a series of pop-up events called the Dinner Club. Vargas has created Spice Voyage with historic artifacts from the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum - a 1671 map of Barbados, a late 1700s ledger belonging to Barnabas Deane, an 1825 painted trunk, and the 1836 edition of The New England Cook Book or Young Housekeepers Guide. This four-course pop-up meal features flavors that reflect the influences of trade to and from the West Indies during the time that the Webbs and the Deanes resided and conducted business in Wethersfield. A tour of the museum will be paired with an array of authentic Caribbean flavors, captivating tablescapes, and the sounds of the Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band, making this a culinary event you won't want to miss! |
