Splash Lab: A Summer STEAM Series
Join us every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. this summer for Splash Lab, a free hands-on STEAM series designed for school-aged kids. Each week, participants will explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through creative projects, experiments, building activities, and interactive learning experiences that inspire curiosity and imagination.
Each session will begin with a short interactive lesson (approximately 10 minutes or less) connected to the day’s theme before participants jump into the hands-on project.
This series is free thanks to the generous support of our local business community. Registration is strongly encouraged, as supplies are guaranteed for registered participants only. Limited extra supplies may be available each week on a first come, first served basis.
Upcoming Sessions
June 2 – Birds & Their Habitats: Birdhouses
Build and decorate a birdhouse while learning about birds and their habitats. Participants will use simple tools, measure materials, and add their own creative designs.
June 9 – World Oceans Day: Sensory Tubes
Create ocean-inspired sensory tubes filled with swirling colors, waves, and sea life while exploring simple science and math concepts through measuring, pouring, and design.
June 16 – Summer Solstice: Sun Catchers
Celebrate the longest day of the year by designing colorful sun catchers while learning about the science behind the Summer Solstice, patterns, shapes, and color.
June 23 – Plant Life Cycle: Decorating Mini Pots
Decorate mini pots, plant seeds, and discover how plants grow from seed to sprout through hands-on gardening and creativity.
June 30 – Fourth of July: Homemade Play Dough
Measure, mix, and create homemade play dough while exploring creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on fun.
July 7 – National Chocolate Day: Homemade Rice Krispie Bars
Make and decorate homemade Rice Krispie bars while learning basic kitchen skills through measuring, mixing, and creativity.
July 14 – Geology Exploration: Rock Painting
Learn about different rocks, textures, and patterns while transforming simple stones into colorful works of art.
July 21 – Apollo 11 Moon Landing Anniversary: Solar System Models
Build and paint a solar system model while exploring planets, the moon, and the excitement of space exploration inspired by the Apollo 11 mission.
July 28 – End of Series Party
Celebrate the end of Splash Lab with a fun-filled party and activities for all participants.
