Description

Celebrating the diverse legacy of LGBT and women-identified composers and poets, YPCC partners with MUSE, Cincinnati's Women's Chorus for its spring concert at The Carnegie. This concert will explore both the metaphorical and literal journey of life through the eyes of LGBT artists.

Just as winter turns to spring and again to the profusion of summer, as grief comes with death and joy comes with new life, this concert will highlight life and nature's phases and transitions. Audience members may join in a sing-along with some well-loved music with MUSE and YPCC and will hear spoken word poetry from Manuel Iris, poet laureate of Cincinnati. In partnership with SOS Art, there will also be an art exhibit on display in the lobby featuring Inside Out, an exhibit curated by Jay DeFazio, with a multitude of trans artists paired with local poets. Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available, as well as a meet and greet with the artists behind the exhibit. Learn more about this project here

Tickets are $30 and the experience includes pre-show hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and admission to the exhibit Inside Out, with an opportunity to mix and mingle with artists from the show. Ticket price will rise to $35 the day of the event.

Audience must be vaccinated with proof of vaccine and masked. Extra masks will be available at the venue. Please see YPCC's Covid Safety Measures here.

This show is sponsored by the ArtsWave Pride grants and features music and poetry by artists from the LGBT community on themes of life, death, transformation, and rebirth. This program was funded in part by a grant from Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
