Description

Hike through the beautiful Brady's Run woods with us in search of spring ephemerals! Spring ephemerals are some of the most special plant species you can see in our region of the world. Only lasting for a few short weeks, spring ephemerals bloom, leaf out, and collect as much nutrients as possible before the tree canopy casts its dense shade. Then these springtime beauties go dormant underground for the rest of the season.

On our hike, we’ll look at beautiful and rare species of spring ephemerals, including Dutchman’s breeches, yellow trout lily, Jack-in-the-pulpits, different kinds of trillium, and more.

PLEASE NOTE: The Brady's Run Tap for Sap race will be finishing up in the afternoon. There should be parking around the Forest Exploration Center, but please note you may have to park on the other side of the bridge.

This hike is free and open to all ages and all identification-knowledge levels.
