Steel Magnolias
By Robert Harling
Director: Molly Dodge | Assistant Director: Lynn Lynch

PERFORMANCE NOTES:
The run time is 2 hours 15 minutes with a 15 minute intermission

SYNOPSIS:
Steel Magnolias is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where the local ladies who are “anybody” have a standing Saturday appointment to have their hair done. Spanning three years, it explores the bonds of six women who gather in the shop for gossip, friendship and support. We see a deep strength and purposeful mess emerge when the sudden realization of their mortality affects all of them, and gives the play and its characters the special quality to make them truly touching, funny, marvelously amiable and “delicate as magnolias but tough as steel.”
