Description
Discover a new way to collage and upcycle in this hands-on sewing workshop. Led by Cari Harris of Cari's Closet, participants will create personalized fabric squares using repurposed textiles. Inspired by quilt-making traditions, this class explores memory, storytelling, identity, and sustainability through hand-stitching. No sewing experience is required - participants can stitch initials, abstract patterns, or meaningful symbols. For this workshop, you are encouraged to bring any meaningful fabrics with you to include in your project. Make sure to arrive at the museum early to get a look at our newest exhibition, Of Salt and Spirit: Black Quilters in the American South. Gallery admission is included in your ticket.
